I’ve committed to sending out little nuggets of entrepreneurial encouragement via WhatsApp, to over 200 people on a regular basis.

Why?  When successful entrepreneurs were asked to share what they believed constituted their success, they gave the expected responses of “focus; a viable business proposition; attention to key drivers, etc”

What was interesting was that most referred to a strong support basis. We share these nuggets with this top of mind, to provide continuing support.

One of the most recent nuggets that attracted my attention was this one, “When you can’t control what’s happening, challenge yourself to control the way you respond.  That’s where your power is.”

Stephen Covey refers to this as the 90:10 principle.

There are things that happen that are beyond our control. (Think of Lockdown parameters; Petrol price going up and a rain downpour)  He contends that this is 10% what happens to us

While we mostly can’t change these things, we have a huge responsibility in how we respond to what happens to us.  He completes his analogy by saying, “Life is 90% how we respond to what happens to us

The quote I shared reinforces this, doesn’t it?

The storm associated with the Covid 19 pandemic is ongoing, and in many respects, there are areas beyond our control.

However, how entrepreneurs respond to the ongoing storm speaks volumes about their focus, growth and perseverance.

Here’s to growing in in our “response-ability”
